LOVE 2 [31]

Do you see
The beauty in the
Flower
Have you felt
Love
Beneath the stars
Do you see the grace
In that child
All arms and legs
At play
Have you
Embraced
A woman’s love
Spurred still on
Even
As she applies
‘easy-off’
To that stained and dirty
Oven
If not
Then you are but a shadow
You have not yet
Seen life
Have not become one
With the Creator
However and whoever
You perceive him/her to be
Beware
Your span is very short
In time
Regulated by the stars
And should you die
While still dead
Then again and again
And yet again
You shall have to walk
This pale
To amend the wrong
In a blind man’s
Sight
When god has smiled
So benevolently.
………………………………………………………………………….

SELF-IMPORTANCE[32]

Beware
Mortal man
Do not forget
Your own
Fallibility
For when
You’ve pressed on
With ‘I’
You’ve let the devil
Ego
Invade
Holy ground
Belittle
God’s very purpose
Upon this earth
Besmirch
The integrity
Of His teaching
So that you and I
May never complete
The mission
That is ours
And come yet again
In frustration
To do
What should have been done
Yesterday.

………………………………………………………………..

VOLUNTEERING[33]

I pray
You take me in hand
Help me
To extend my love
Lend a helping hand
To all who come
My way
I heartily pray
That
I never see the day
When
Self
Will play
A leading role
Overpower
The needs of each one
For as I see
The role I play
There is no self
But God
His love
His way
I pray to remain
His tool
Give me company
On my own way
Home.

…………………………………………………..

TAKE IT IN STRIDE[34

A time of love
On a quest
For life
Seeing a place
For all
Within these bounds
Heaven’s purpose
Blessed
So it is
Good morning
World
Each day of life
Joy and strife
Taken
In stride
A blessing seen
In that
Which is not
But knowing
Without doubt
That
All has its place
Is now
As
It should be
Within the bounds
Of
Holy purpose.

EGO[28]

Ego
Eccentricity of man
Where
Oh where do you lead him
When once he is opened
To the fact
That he is just a tool
For karma and God
Yes, by man against man
The
Last vestige
Of animal life
When
‘I’ was the center
Of all
To carry
A primitive man
Upward to the spheres
To the higher echelon
Of the fated
Human being
Fated
To join the angels
Or doomed to
Extinction
Erased from memory
Ego
You are doomed to die
As die you must
If man is to survive
Keep
Good teaching
Alive.

DRIFTWOOD[29]
[in memory of Jim, and others I have known]

Where did the boy go
In that drunkard over there
The one who looks so lost
So forelorn
What demons
Plague
Control
This lost soul
Where
Are his protectors
Why do I see him
A piece of driftwood
On the beach
In the shallows
Karma
Be done with this soul
Let him regain
The path
Let his conscience
Intuition
Get back in sync
To finish
What he must have started
So long ago.

……………………………………………..

VISION OF A CHILD[30]

Oh, if only adults had
The vision
Of a child
Intuition
Unblemished
By
The scars of time
The beautiful child
Conscience of innocence
Ever clean
With right and wrong
So
Crystal clear
Like
Day and night
No shades of gray
To confuse the way
The sweetness of life
Full
To overflowing
Able
To see
Through an adult’s
Shams
The grace
To go along.

…………………………………………………
KNOWING[25]

Mind
Must always relate
To something
That is known
So listen well
Heed this word
When at last
You know it all
Open wide
Your inner eye
Yes
Then begin again
For never
Ever
Upon this earth
Will
Any ‘one’
Know all
But must relate their knowledge
To others
On this plane
Yes, drowning ego
In wisdom’s well
One may begin
To know
And blend and mix and swell
Pure knowledge
Blessings to us all
Until at last
With hell erased
Ego
Just a memory
The land of God
New Jerusalem
Will at last
Be found
As mankind
And his restless spirit
Will at last
Be God’s grateful guest.

………………………………………………….

FREEDOM
IS GIVING[26]

I see failures piled high
Frustrations tears
Saturate the ground
Yet, still I smile
For life’s lessons
Must be taught
Even in this turmoil
We still can give
Yes
Lend a helping hand
By word and deed
Give solid footing
To another
And likewise
Lift ourselves
That we all
Are made free
See the truth
Of what we have
Are getting
Every single day.

…………………………………………………

WHAT EXCUSE[27]

The honor
Of being alive
Granted
To every living person
Young child
Old person
Every woman here
Is misused
At every turn
Taking the love
And beauty
Here about us
Turning it to hatred
And war
To accepting
And ignoring
Hatred
Disease
Starvation
In the name of society
Hardening us
To the natural caring
Born
Into each one of us
A blessing
From above
What shall we cry
When
He has had enough
Bids us
Pay the price
For the sacrilege
We commit
Each day
On our fellow man.
……………………………………………
WHO ARE WE TO KNOW[22]

Joy
In the thought
That God
Is watching
Over me
Sorrow wells
In the shortcomings
That I see
But then
A thought
What are shortcomings
To He
Who is all
Or
What is perfection
We
Know not
But what our ego
Tells us
Until
Conscience
Our hidden
Private voice
Differentiates
What might be
From what is
And we see
As Christ saw
And
Make a small place
Of love
In the world.

…………………………………………………

A PRAYER[23]

Oh
Light of love
Shine on me
The loner
Who needs someone
The introvert
Who is in fact
A closet extrovert
Who
It seems
Must have surety
Within some bounds
For him to carry on
So help me now
Upon
My quest
For
I’ll not stand
For nothingness
And this
I will pray
To my
God of gods
And
Angels before
Help me
Gain the end
That
Surely waits for me.

…………………………………………

GUARDIAN
ANGEL [24]

In
The light of day
In
The dark of night
God
And His angels
Will
Watch over us
Guiding us
As they may
But
To do their best
We must work
As well
In caring
And in love
So that
All will shine
Through us
Yes
And God
Be magnified.

………………………………………….
ARMAGGEDEN INTERIOR[19]

May the rain of Wisdom
Shower
All of humankind
With the wisdom of love
That divine aspect
Of He who resides above
Below
Without
Within
May the roots of change
In the hearts and minds
Of men
Cause to transpire
That change
To produce Armaggeden
In the hearts
And eternal souls
Of men
Show those who fear
The horror
Of a ‘final’ conflict
That such righteous war
Must transpire
Within
Change
The nature of man
To that of Jesus
The man who of late
Showed us
How to live.

……………………………………………..

LOVE[20]

If
The light of the world
Is not
Shining on you
Smile
Let your love
Show
For
It will plant
Such
Heavenly seed
That there will
Never
Ever
Ever
Be dark
That darkness
To shut out
Divine Light.

…………………………………………..

BE [21]

If you
Want to be a winner
Be it
If you
Want to have success
See it
If you
Want to have true love
Give it
Therefore
To become something
Be
It
God bless us
Every one.

……………………………………………….
THE MIRACLE OF LIFE[16]

Feel the heat
The glimmering, shimmering
Heat
Of the summer sun
Feel it
As it draws the moisture
From deep within you
Making us very aware
Of the light breeze
That tries
To cool our body
Unsuccessful
By the lightheaded feeling
That pervades the brain
Until the darkness begins
To invade
That realm of light
Wrapping all
In a blanket
Of much needed coolness
And the miracle of life
Invades our consciousness
With the first dim twinkling
Of some
Far distant sun.

………………………………………………………..

LISTEN[17]

Listen
To the poets
Who show us
Wrong and right
Give us loving light
And so
Eternal sight
Let their love
Wrapped
And hidden deep
Oft times
Be the beacon
Bright
To open
Closed hearts
To all the love
Hidden in the world
Listen
To the teardrops
That many poets give
Harken
To their laughter
It is their gift
From God
Open
To those hidden words
The Lord reserves
For you and me
Join
The poets of the world
Let love
Create the soil’s [soul’s]
Fertility.

……………………………………………………..

INNER CHANGE[18]

Without a change
That comes from within
We ‘will’
Hear the din
Of another world war
I can see a world
Bathed and dripping
In blood
Washed in the tears
Of the cockholded man
Screaming
I didn’t know
I didn’t know
But a picture glows
As Pinnochio’s nose rose
Sitting there
Upon his hands
Afraid to challenge
What he knew to be wrong
So this is what
Will be
We’ll live til we die
Tomorrow
Oh God
I hear a hollow echo
‘Where did we go wrong’.
……………………………………………………
A POEM UNSUNG[13]

Every person
On this earth
Is a poem yet unsung
So be humanity’s strong pillar
Know
That each person
Has
Their eternal place
And needs just a simple key
To flood the world
Again
Til the earth is deep
In Noah’s waters
Of the past
Let love and wisdom
Flow from in your soul
To open the flood gates
Of mankind’s eternal spirit
Erase
The wrong’s gone by
And create for the children
A brand new day.

…………………………………………………………………………………….

SHORTSIGHTED FOOL[14]

Shortsighted man
Your vision
Is definitely impaired
By momentary needs
Ignoring
The harm
Done each day
To the garden
That is this earth
What
Will our children say
Or
Our children’s children
Indeed
When there is no air
To breathe
No
Unpolluted drink
Where mutant children
Will abound
And fear
Become supreme
Rebel against the harm
Done each day
That seals
The future’s plight
And Ethiopia, Sudan
And such
Send
Packages of care
To North American shores
And
Tables turned
We cry to the sky
“Why have you
Forsaken us.”

………………………………………………………………………..

HIDDEN EXCITEMENT[15]

Have you
Walked
Heart and soul
In the shades
Of night
Beneath
The stars above
Have you felt
The loneliness
So full to overflowing
Of hidden love
And excitement
The thrill
In every unknown footstep
How like this life
We travel
Day to day
Except
We have the sun
To guide, depend upon
If we allow ourselves
To see
Religion’s light
In whatever way
We choose
Yet
The darkness spreads
Even though doors open
Ever more wide.
…………………………………………………………
THE SEARCH’S END [10]

A day turns
And life goes on
Situations
Blend and change
And each one of us
Must
Carry on our life
Seeing purpose
Lessons
In each phase
For as surely
As the seasons change
So too
The days of our lives
As we grow
Mature and learn
Working
Towards the final page
Checking the scoreboard
At Peter’s gate
Take a break
Start again
Until at last
The cycle will end
Our time of trial
A thing of the past
And Heaven’s glory
Opens to each one of us
And we know
At last
The bliss
Of being with the Divine
One with God
Our lessons learned
To know
See
And be
The truth.
………………………………………………………………..

FALSE PRIDE [11]

How dare a man
Strive to be a god
Within this earthly plane
For though he is of God
And though he is as God
In spiritual plane
He should beware
Lest vanity
Turn him
Into a pillar of salt
For he shall not
Take an holy office
Before his time
And that time
Is not now
On earthly plane
For God is master here
While those dwelling below
Are but students
To what
They will one day be.

………………………………………………………………………..

REALITY [12]

Another day
Is rendered up
For sacrifice
To their unknown God
As though
We’ll fool Him
Into the belief
That man
Has learned
At last
To coincide
Yes co-exist
With man and beast
His land
To understand
But blind beggars
That we are
We know
We know
Blind luck
Has brought us here
But she is old now
Decrepit and half-blind
And thinkers all
Had better scream down
Government halls
The awful cries
Of Reality
That tomorrow
Cannot be left
To just its own.

……………………………………………………………………….
RENEWAL [9]

When day is night
And cold
Is all
The time of the end
Is nigh
Civilization
Dead
For a time
‘Again!’
Perhaps we’ll grow
Next time
To see and know
The wrong
That pervades ‘Now’
And a religion of love
And understanding
Take the place
Of what we have today
Realizing the importance
Of every living soul
Not
Given to rationalizing
To suit
‘Anyone’s’
Need
Finally
Ascend
Upon and beyond
This plane.
……………………………………………………………..

THE SEARCH’S END [10]

A day turns

OUR FRIEND [4]

There's an echo in our land
So many pray to God
Who know him not
Unaware
That what we do - are
Determines if we see
Beyond the shade
To know the love he has for us
Empty words
See empty church
Not of men
But God
For when we know him
In our heart
Know he is in each of us
For each of us to love
For if he is without
But lives yet not within
Then we are
empty
Empty shell
And not rain
But tears do fall
The anguish of our God
For how we treat our friend.

.........................................................................

THE FUTURE [5]

I see the beauty
Others see
But I see its demise
And I glory in the life
I see
But cry
For what must be
But I'll not ever
Be
Content
Until my words are heard
Then
If change in heart and word
I see
Growing to ethereal bloom
That shall be the glory
To me
Knowing life may yet secure
Safety
From the blight
Of now
And in five hundred years
Children
Of our children's
Children
May smile
And laugh
In a new way
Unclouded
By that blight of now
For this
I'd give my soul.

………………………………………………………………..
NONE ARE SO BLIND
AS THOSE THAT WILL NOT SEE [6]

The light of day
Gives way to night
So too it goes
With you and me
With eyes open
We are
The more blind
And hasten
To oblivion
With moral shouts
Of right and wrong
Yet still we go
Ever more deep
Into the morass
Social decay
A rot that starts
Right at the top
Personal gain
More dear than pain
Caused those below.
……………………………………………………………………………..

TERRIBLE CLEANSING [7]

When man pollutes
Where is his conscience
To the damage done
Upon children at play
To wildlife
All defenceless
Which continue to pay and pay
And yet, still
Conscience
Takes a rocky back seat
To the so-called
Necessities Of man
His survival
To his eternal growth
Now so dependent
On narrow sight
Afraid
To take a stand
To listen
To his heart and soul
That ever show
The wrong
And we deteriorate
Until
Finally
We do explode
That horrendous bomb
A
H
N
Or whatever’s new
To cleanse
What in peace
We only destroy.
…………………………………………………………………..

GOING HOME [8]

For Jesus
The ultimate plea
Misused by man
From year to year
“Father
Why
Hast thou
Forsaken
Me”
But at the last
He knew
The truth
And said it not again
For we cannot
Hear, sing, see, feel
Or think
As does our lord
Except
What is done
Happens
Or will be
Is ‘just’
And done
For love of us
So that
If we cannot understand
Then we must accept
For God
Is leading us Home.
……………………………………………………………………..

"""CLIMB THE RAINBOW MOUNTAIN"""

LIFE OR DEATH [1]

I see my God
As I do see
And so too
Should you see
For not to see
However that be
Is to beckon death
To your side
Empty vessel
That you may be
For no religion
Is to have no heart
To have no heart
Is to have no soul
And soul is that
Heavenly spark
That gives us light
That gives us life
If not, therefore
You are dead.

.........................................................................

THE HARVEST [2]

Behold the day
Life giving rain
Dark clouds overhead
Crashing thunder
The lightning bolt
Each to give way again
To the heat of the sun
And to changing seasons
Feel the power
In the air
Oh, see as the poet sees
The grandeur
In it all
Can there be a doubt
That 'He' is here about
In all His majesty
Feeding our bodies
Filling our imagery
Enriching each
Our soil [soul]
With love and fear
And brotherhood
In preparation
For the harvest.

..............................................................................

GIFT OF GOD [3]

God
Is applied science
In so much
That unless we apply it
He may never know it
For one may be pure
Pure as the driven snow
But unless he gives
Of what he has - is
No one will ever know
And God Himself
May never see him
For it is when we give
That it reflects above
And too, deep within
For the gift of God
Is in the giving
The giving of love
The giving of life
Both quantity and quality
To praise our God above.

.........................................................
===============================================
==========================================
This could be my prayer to Santa Claus. It is about the gift of Christmas. It is about what should be important at Christmas and indeed, all year long. I is about the power of LOVE.
BRING ME THE SPIRIT

BRING ME THE SPIRIT

Hey, Santa Claus, bring it to me
What’s that you say, oh, no
The spirit is what I want
Even if I can’t have it
Just to see its rebirth
Among young and old
Heartfelt words, tears of joy
A kiss or hug from the heart
Husband to wife, parent to child
Indeed to all men
Let me sense a building joy
To replace that crass greed
Dollars and cents, devoid of feeling
Gimme, gimme, you owe me
For we were given life to return it in kind
Life in love, life in happiness
Tolerance, recognition
That all people have a right to be, to share
Yes, Santa Clause
If you have a gift for me
Give me a smile, soul’s love
From behind two eyes
It costs so much yet naught at all
For free of self
It is unchained
To sweep the world like wildfire
Love, that most potent gift
That alone can bring peace
On earth.
...............................................................................
This last one is but the beginning for the next level. It is a prayer to all men from every other caring person upon this earth. The glory that could be this world, the true power of love. If we could only do this what a wonderful thing it would be.

CAN’T WE KEEP IT

Look at the ice-laden branches
So diamond-like
In the afternoon sun
Hear the crackling sounds
As the frost is released
Trumpets signaling a warming trend
Snow perhaps
Good
Santa will have an easy time
So that children
Waking before the sun
Will see happiness
Eyes twinkling
Almost as bright as the afternoon branches
Beneath that sun
Oh that a wave of total love and delight
Should sweep the world
Oh, let us try and keep it
This year.
.................................................................................
We can hear, if we listen, listen to the whispers from our children about what is wrong, and what we ourselves have seen, those things that are wrong but that we refused to speak up about. The children of this age do not need to be afraid to speak up. They survived the possible nuclear war. They have seen and read of the proof of their devastation. They can, with our prayers and support, bring about a change that must take place upon this earth before we succeed in finding more ways to destroy ourselves.

IS IT TIME

Sing of the cheer, aah to the lights
Sing praises above
Look what I got, what did you get
The plasticity of the season is appalling
In the narrow confines of a narrowminded man
Content with his own
Caring not for what is happening
All around him, and to nature’s home
Which supports us all
To different peoples the world around
At the butchery of forest and animal life
[That still survive]
That abound
And yes, oh foolish man, to ourselves
Indeed store prices go up, up
And up again
Hopes of glad tidings [from those in charge]
Glad tidings insomuch that
We are willing to swallow what they offer us
Complacent to all
Except position, the dollar of power
So Merry Christmas
We’ll all take it still yet again
But look you, is that a new star
Shining so bright, so close to the earth
Can you feel the heat
Cringe, you users of man’s good will
The heat is that of change
Changing the fiber of thought in this season
Good will to men given new meaning
In the hopes and cheers
Of youth
Yes, They will show us
Change.
.................................................................................
One could say that this next one is a prayer for change. It is a prayer that God intercedes yet again. Perhaps he will give those that knowingly destroy our lives and ways of life, exactly what they deserve.
Many see the wrongs that they and we perpetuate, but close their eyes in favor of what they may gain today, forgetting that if we do not look after tomorrow, there may be no place left, for our children and yes, our children’s children.

A PRAYER

Glorious God in Heaven
He that lives too
In the eternal heart of men
Forgive us our trespass
And let us forgive
Those who trespass against us
Let vibrations arise from man’s soul
To shatter the shallow paper defenses
Green of course
Of those who would rule it else
Try as they might, God will not be denied
And there is a miracle birth this year
Perhaps in a manger, but with a new star
Shining from the east, welcoming a new age
When man shall respect man
Respect and be responsible for
Born again, miraculously
Lord, those of us who see tomorrow from now
Beg that you, in all your majesty
Will attack the falsehood around us
Both fromm without and too, within
Let wrong thought be singed, seared
Destroyed from the hearts of men
Let brotherhood be the cry
Let it be now else all your children die
And the ghosts of those unborn
Cry down the walls of eternity’s halls
In favor
Of a new day
When all
Will walk
Your way.
...........................................................................
Many times I have heard very learned men speaking on the subject of our survival, and many of those men can see no way for us to survive except perhaps, for the possible tenacity of those yet to come.
Is it so difficult then, for them to see that indeed, the answer is as simple as 1,2,3. Yes, to change this world from what it is, to the beautiful thing it could and should be, would be but a simple change of heart, a change of viewpoint.
Remove greed, pride, and ego, which ever raise their ugly heads in our societies, all, or at least control it, and we could yet have a beautiful world.
It is all in how we choose to view life and those living it with us on this planet.

A MERE CHANGE IN THOUGHT

A virgin birth is upon the land
Birth from a blanket of white
The cradle is the world
Wise men those who see
The shepherds those who lead the people back
Back to the chosen land, and where
Where is this chosen land I hear someone say
Why, it’s right here, of course
Wherever here might be
For our lot, by and large
Is the land in which we were born
The promised land is PEACE
Within and without
The means a mere change of heart
Respect for all men, all men’s truths
To respect our neighbours
Those above and those below
For where now is respect
Let this miracle begin now
Materialize with the approaching season
And then rebirth in spring
For with a mere change in thought
A millennium of peace may yet be ours
A worthy end-beginning
For all who have died
Struggled and cried
For some two thousand years and more
Glory and praise
To those who hold such fortitude.

Sunday, August 31, 2008

This poem could be said to be my reply, mine and a growing number of people, who are beginning to despise the crassness and greed that ever is in abundance around us.
It is a plea to others beginning to see those wrongs around them, to get back to the reality of the season, peace, love, tolerance, brotherhood.

WHERE IS TRUTH IN A LIE

A cynic, you say
No heart, you say
Don’t have a heart, well
Perhaps
Or is it perhaps reversed
For where is truth in a lie
Where is giving in gimme, gimme
Where is sharing in price gouging
What is heart
To a politician that steps on us
The little man, in favor
Of wealth and power
How is it love
When we eat our fill
As others starve
Where is real wealth
In economies built
On what we do not need
Who, what, when, where
Is caring
When we say so what
Reaching for just ourselves
Ah well, what will be, will
But at least I will have my say
Try to live by ethics
Other than what I see
So that
When I say ‘Merry Christmas’
I will indeed say
I love you, brother, I wish you well
I accept your differences
As I hope you will accept me
Yes, and my differences from you
Knowing we are one
In God
Regardless of what he is called
By you or by me.
.........................................................................
From my own life, and working with people of many nationalities, a question has often haunted me. As a for-instance, asking why when I hear of a war and threats of war, one country or another. I look into that question a little bit.

ONE ON ONE

I do see
Love
Shining
In each one of us
I do see
Caring
But
What I do not see
Is that loving
Carry on
Beyond the season
And to that
I object
Are we letting
Someone else’s pride
Someone else’s ego
Rule our lives
For one on one
Man on man
All that nations
Seem to covet
Does not exist.
........................................................................
Many times, even though we see that a change is needed, we close our eyes in favor of instant profit, or we refuse to speak because it would put us in the ‘limelight’. We forgive ourselves for not speaking out because we say, ‘no one should expect us to risk our fortunes, our positions, or our lives, for something with no guarantees’.
Because of this we keep quiet, rich and poor. Who do we hurt besides ourselves? I give you a poem, PERHAPS.

PERHAPS

A child’s love
Is real
His feelings
Are not pretense
And
Left to his own
Perhaps
He
Could change
Our world
But
So it seems
That we would
Perpetuate
All that was
Cheating
That child
Every child
Of what might be
…In peace
and….
In Brotherhood.
.................................................................................
WHERE DOES IT GO

Love
Peace
Tolerance
Brotherhood
All
Echo loudly
From Merry Christmas
Where
Does it disappear
On January second
Of each year
Perhaps
We should all realize
That
Christmas feelings
Are meant to be
All year
While anything else
Is sacrilege
To that
Which all men
Hold dear.
..............................................................................
This poem is dedicated to the wasted years that have come and gone, again and again. It is a bit of a cynical takeoff from some of our Christmas carols, but, hopefully, if we are to survive, be realized and put into practice.

IF WE TRULY DID

Tis the season to be jolly
Tra, la, la, la
Beware man’s folly
Joy to the world
But turn off the television
God rest ye
Merry gentlemen
You have to close your minds
To all the pain
Around the world
First noel, but the next
May very well
Be our last
But, oh well
Let’s close our eyes
Good King Wenceslas
Looked out
And shared with one
When
Will we reach out in full
In brotherhood too
Here comes Santa Claus
Here comes Santa Claus
I hope that unknown blip
On a radar screen
Doesn’t start
The next world war
Then
Rudolph would really
Go down in history
Yes
This is cynical
But if we truly did
All that the season dictates
It would truly be
The beginning
Of the beginning.

LET US BOTTLE IT

For all that I say and have said
Indeed, that which I believe
The tree is still beautiful
Children’s happy joyous faces
Still a joy to see
And the message given
Through manner and song
Is still a beautiful one
And watching a child
Their excitement
On that day
Christmas morning
Is still exhilarating
Happiness
Amidst the tearing paper
Excited screams
The oohs and aahs
Yes
Christmas is a joyous time
I wish only
That we might share it
Bottle it and share it out
To all men, everywhere
Labelled perhaps
With the words
“God’s blessings to all men”
Or
“Peace on Earth
Good will to [all] men”.
.........................................................
ONE FOR A DAY

Find a tree
With equal branches
Reaching out to us
Tying it to the car
Our youngster
Tagging along
For his opinion
Sharing in finding
That treasure
For his family
Squaring the bottom
Setting it in the stand
Giving it a place
In our livingroom
Our lives
Then gathering
One and all
To decorate it
Smelling its perfume
As it invades our senses
With images
Of the coming day
Humming some bars from
Oh, Christmas Tree
Ah, yes
The family
For now
Is one.
.................................................................
This poem is to the great plans of mankind, which blossom at this season for a moment, and then fast or slow, disappear once more. We seem unable to hold those good thoughts beyond the moment.

ONCE EACH YEAR

It is decorated now
See it
The pretty lights
The tinsel so bright
Reflecting prism colors
With snow or angel hair
And there
Way up on top
An angel
Showing us the peace
She represents
The message
That is given us
Once each year
A white cloth beneath
Upon which
Slowly
As relatives come to visit
Gathers to itself
Piles of love
In colored paper
Such a beautiful time
So full of love
But then
As in our world
We tear
Rip it all apart
Again.
...................................................................................
Nature is forever showing us things and trying to teach us lessons, pointing out the way to a better way of life. We seem to be constantly and consistently blind to it.
Our native Indians have tried and is trying to give us messages from the planet itself, and from the natural life upon it. The planet can show us, natives can try to teach us, scientists can explain it, but it is all up to us to ‘do’ it.

LESSONS OF NATURE

Caroling angels
Smiling faces
Bright wreaths
On doorway and window
Ah yes
The season of love
Is upon us
Frosty trees
Blanketed in ice
Nature is decorating herself
Again, with the sun
Reflecting from the branches
Showing us diamonds
Of faith in tomorrow
The gentle snowfall
Dropping silently, gently
From the heavens
Above
Bespeak a virgin day
Tomorrow
Eliminating
The sorrows
Of the rest of the year
Perhaps mother nature
Is showing us
That she
Can do it for a day
But
It is up to us
To make the season
Last.
............................................................................
Oftentimes now I hear more and more, that people are dissatisfied with what Christmas has and is becoming. It is a disgrace to see the many new and improved ways of gouging money, often from those who can least afford it. They can do this because people are reaching out, at least for the moment, to that brotherhood of man.
Greed has a multi-legged octopus that is trying hard to worm their way into our very immortal souls.

A QUANDRY

A quandary
Do we perpetuate
The fallacies of yesteryear
And present again
A happy face
Perhaps
For a week
Or maybe two
Or do we say
What to us
Is a truth
From where we stand
That stores
Play Christmas carols
To hide
Rising prices
That government
Wants to say
We care
Although
Whether they do
Is anyone’s guess
But in those words
Is a silent plea
Leave me in power
What power? Why over us
Sooo, put on a happy face
Everyone does
To get
What they want
From each of us
And we, too
Do the same thing
So
Where is the Merry Christmas
In that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happiness is many things
All encompassing
Purity of feelings
Parity with all
Yes, friends, strangers too

Never forgetting that we can
Eat while others do not
When we sit to celebrate

Yuletide festivities
Eating our fill, seemingly satisfied
At how the world turns, but please
Remember the gift of sharing.
..........................................................
GIFT OF LOVE

So locked
In a monetary world
We are sometimes insulted
By gifts
That our own ancestors
Would have
Cried for joy over
We let advertisers
Decide
What will make us happy
To receive
This Christmas time
Where is the joy
The glee
Because someone spent
Hours
Making something with love
Created
For just us alone
When will we sheep
Become
The human beings
We once were
Look
At your youngest child
Or the baby
Of your own baby
See the joy, the excitement
For that glorious day
That comes but once a year
The sparkle in little eyes
To match all the lights
All the pretty paper
Gifts given from the heart
Are more expensive than any
Purchased in a store
For that gift
Given of the heart
Is a small piece
Of that person
The rest
Just good advertising.
........................................................
We hear much talk about brotherhood of man as we and others still maintain that everyone else will be as happy as we are as soon as they start doing things out way, whether it is our way of life, or yet our religion.
God did not create one sect over another, and he created all men and women under the sun, so why is it, the question must be asked, does each religion feel the same warped way, that all will be well as soon as all the others join ‘us’. When will we finally realize that we are ‘one’ under God, who created us all, regardless what name we give to him. All men are our brothers, regardless of race, color or creed.

GOOD WILL TO [ALL] MEN

Celebrate what you will at this single season
It matters not at all
Unless
The joy, happiness
Generated on this special day
Is scattered day by day
Throughout the year
Not just to our own, but to all men
Then the meaning
Will truly have been understood
Good will to [all] men
Reaching out to others
Celebrating what they will
Realizing that though they may be different
Than we ourselves
They are still our brothers
Regardless if some see themselves
As ‘holier than thou’
Peace and happiness cannot exist
Without tolerance and love
For those who grow by different paths
For all that we must realize
Is that each man alive was created
By that self-same God
So to do other than love thy neighbour
Is to admit a truth about one’s self
That in fact
We are but warmongers
Hidden by a wreath and holy attitude
But still we can see
Bloodstained hands
NO matter their attitude
To us alone.
...........................................................................
What is the reason for the constant fighting between different creeds? What??? Ego. Each one wanting to feel that they have something that no one else has. Why? Power and Ego, that is what, with a pile of [in our case] green stuff thrown in.
If we can overcome things that constantly get in our way, then perhaps the true ‘Brotherhood Of Man’ IN GOD, may yet rise upon this earth and an age of peace yet be ours, or at the very least, to that of our children.

EVERY SOCIETY THE SAME

I would speak to you of dreams and things
Th imagery by which we convince ourselves
How righteous, tolerant, and loving we are
But the world around us screams……LIAR
I love to see the happiness in a child’s face
Singing carols of joy, happiness, brotherhood
Yet, unknown to this happy child
A hypocrite with bloody hands
Belittles another’s ways, and shows
The dark gray shadows covering all by EGO
That part of every man by which choices are made
Choices to share in that which is every man’s heritage
Or blinding us to thinking, showing, what some men teach
That ours is sthe only ‘right’ way, the only truth
That everyone will be happy only
When he or she embraces that which we are taught
But the silly, scary, awful, and dire truth
Is that each society thinks and believes that same thing
Now some will say Satan, but I say, only ego
For even to believe a fallen angel responsible
Is but a feeble excuse for men to cover that ego
That evil
For to have a world at peace requires one thing
Control that ego, put it in its proper place
Then there may rise upon this earth ‘true tolerance’
Allowing then to rise that which we all seek
Peace and the Brotherhood of Man.

TIS THE SEASON

=============================================================
==============================================
=================
SHADOWS

I smiled
In the land of Christmas trees
Lifted
By the secret whispers
Of the children
Pondering
The mystery
Of the coming day
Shutting out
Shuddering, horrific days
That seep
And ooze
Into the thoughts
Of everyday
Turn our heads from shadows
Of dire starvation
Go out
Buy our turkey and trimmings
Laugh and smile
With all of our friends
At jokes
That the starving man’s children
Would simply not understand
Yet they see those helping them
And wish them
A merry Christmas.
.....................................................................
REBIRTH

They hauled
That poor and bedraggled thing
Laid it on the vacuumed rug
To bleed
Until
The time came
When it would rise
With loving hands
Be transformed
Into a Christmas tree
Brightened
Brought to brilliant life
By love
With the oohs and aahs
Of shaky small hands
The loving children
Excitement
Gleaming from their eyes
Homemade ornaments
Placed with love and care
Dangling
From every single branch
For visiting friends
To share
Take one home, with love
So that part of our warm feelings
We can share with them
Our own
Special, special way
To say
Have a Merry Christmas.
..........................................
EXCITEMENT

Christmas trees
Shining lights
With giggling kids
Almost in sight
Little packages
Of love
Surrounding
The tower bright
Partially hidden
In tinsel forests
Sparkling
In the colored lights
Giving all
An eerie light
Filling us each
With the excitement
Of
The early morning light
When children’s eyes
Outshine
The Christmas tree
Midst tearing paper
Ribbons too
So we say
A very special
Merry Christmas
To each and everyone
Of you, from us.
............................................................
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merrily we approach the day
Each year at this time
Ready to trim the tree
Reaching the angel high
Yes, awaiting the time we love

Caroling around the neighbourhood
Having the greatest time
Remembering childhood times
In some half remembered place
So dim and yet so dear
That always are so near
My children will remember too
And carry on with happiness
Sharing with their own, always.
